Such as California and their wildfires, mudslides or earthquakes? What about Florida (and Gulf areas) and their hurricanes? How about Midwesterners and their tornados?
I don't wish anyone to lose their house or belongings, but is having your house in the 'prime location' worth rebuilding every five years or so?Do you have compassion for people who live in areas where Mother Nature often repeats herself?
We can't hide from Mother Nature. I've lived in tornado alley my entire 51 years and never had any damage from a tornado nor have I ever seen one. It doesn't matter where you live, you are at the mercy of Mother Nature, so I have compassion for anyone that loses their homes, belongings, or life to a natural disaster......and where are you located?Do you have compassion for people who live in areas where Mother Nature often repeats herself?
Well I live in Maine and the worst disaster in my lifetime has been the ice storm of 1998. And while devastating to us not nearly as bad as hurricane, tornado or fire stricken areas. We don't have huge floods, only have had a few small hurricanes, have had a couple of earthquakes in Bar Harbor in the past year but again mild ones and something new to Maine. We have blizzards but they only kill people that are stupid enough to drive in them and people who are stupid enough to put generators or propane heaters in their houses without ventilation. I do have compassion however for those who live in those areas. It has to be devastating and well places like where I live that don't generally have devastating disasters only have so much room. People take a chance with their lives every day. Driving, walking across the street etc. Any of us anywhere could have an electrical fire and lose our home. You just never know.
it is certain that compassion reigns when we see devastation such as we can now observe in America,we would not be human if no feeling was present, It may well be that the people who live on these areas have to, for various reasons, but anything other than that, You pays your money and you takes your choice
wow, most fires, mudslides and earthquakes in california actually don't do that much damage. it is very rare to have mass damage. this is not like living in tornado alley or in an area hurricanes routinely hit. the last major fires were 4 years ago and before that - not in my lifetime (i'm 26). earthquakes - there's been 1 devastating earthquake in my lifetime and it was the worst since something like the 1920's (maybe earlier, i can't remember right now). mudslides are more of a nocal thing so to be honest - i really couldn't tell you much about them. but that in itself indicates they can't be that bad.
no.
I have compassion for anyone who loses everything in their lives to unfortunate circumstances. Every part of the country is suspect when it comes to natural disasters, the ones you mention just happen to be in the news. People rebuild in these areas because of family ties, because this is the only area they know. We need to come up with better ways to protect ourselves when these things happen.
Location!Location!Location! Does not matter. Sooner or later, you`re going to get what you deserve.
